United States President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have condemned the barbaric attack in a school in Peshawar saying that the terrorists have shown their "depravity" by carrying out a "gut-wrenching" massacre.
According to News24, Obama said that the Taliban has shown their "depravity" by targeting innocent students and teachers in the horrific attack in Peshawar. He said that they stand by Pakistan and support the government and citizens in their effort to combat terrorism.
U.S. Secretary of State Kerry said, on a visit to London, that the images of the attack were "gut-wrenching". He said that the Taliban assassins served a "dark" vision.
Authorities regained control of the situation after more than seven hours of fighting that left all the militants dead. However, the explosives left behind were hampering clearance efforts.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), said claiming responsibility for the attack, that it was a revenge for the military offensive in the region.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the massacre was a "national tragedy unleashed by savages".
