US president Barack Obama has ruled out engaging in diplomatic 'wheeling and dealing' in order to get other nations extradite NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden.

Obama has reportedly said that the case would be handled through legal channels and he is not going to be scrambling jets just to get the 29-year-old hacker, BBC reports.

As Ecuador is yet to decide on the fate of Snowden who leaked classified data about US led 'snooping' programme, Ecuador's President Rafael Correa said that as Snowden is in Russia at the moment his claim for asylum is yet unaddressed to.

Meanwhile, Obama refused having called China or Russia's presidents for Snowden's extradition and said that he is not going to have a case of Snowden's extradition suddenly being elevated to the point where he has got to start doing wheeling and dealing and trading on a whole host of other issues.

Obama further said that Russia and other countries as part of the international community are expected to abide by the international law.

According to the report, Snowden is believed to be in Russia's airport and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has claimed that Ecuador has issued Snowden special refugee travel document as his US passport has been revoked, to which Ecuador's Political Issues Minister Betty Tola declines.

Ecuador's government spokesperson said that Ecuador is not going to accept pressures or threats from anyone, and it does not traffic in its values or allow them to be subjugated to mercantile interests.

US has criticized Russia and China of helping Snowden escape from Hong Kong to which the two nations deny.

While Russia denied that its secret police questioned Snowden and Hong Kong authorities claim he had been allowed out of their territory because of a mistake in the middle name given on US arrest documents.

US authorities have called these claims as a 'pretext for not acting'.
