A Central fact-finding team will visit Nagada tribal-dominated village in Jajpur district of Odisha today following the death of at least 19 children due to malnutrition.
The five-member team of the Union Health Ministry would visit the village under Sukinda block to interact with the residents before having a review meeting with the Jajpur district administration and other government officials.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has asked the State government to submit a report on the situation in the village, predominantly inhabited by people of the primitive Juang tribe, in 10 days.
Besides 19 children's death in the mineral-rich area, 24 infants in two villages of Nagada and Guhiasal located on the hilltop are undergoing treatment at local health centres.
