A man from Taiwan was so offended by his wife's joke on his poor erectile function, that he hacked her with a cleaver to death.

63-year-old Chang Yi-hsin got upset when his wife Lin Yue-gui, 59, insisted that his manhood was only good for going to the toilet, and picked up the sharp object from the kitchen and slammed it into her head, the Daily Star reported.

He slashed at her as she lay on the living room floor, and then went outside and tried to crush himself under his garage door, which backfired.

Chang got trapped beneath the door and had to call for help, and a policeman said that he casually told the firemen "Oh, I also stabbed my wife. I hope she's not too badly injured,"

The wife was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

A hospital spokesman said that she had terrible injuries to her head and back resulting in severe loss of blood.

Chang plead guilty and is now facing life in prison, and a cop said that he "deeply regretted" what he had done, but had felt humiliated about his erectile dysfunction at the time.
