A Cleveland man, who was worried about the cost his daughter's upcoming nuptials, found the solution to his problem in his old collection of Spiderman comic books.

According to Cleveland Plain Dealer, Richard Schaen remembered that he had stored away his comic books years ago in a strongbox, People Magazine reported.

The retired electronic technician then dug out the box that contained a copy of Amazing Spider-Man No. 1, which he'd bought for 12 cents in March 1963.

Schaen, 69, was delighted when he listed the comic for sale online and it sold for 7,900 dollars.

He told the publication that he has given his daughter a promissory note for the money with a picture of the Spider-Man comic, which they can use to pay for a big part of the catering for her reception.
