Oman foreign minister to visit India

Oman's Foreign Minister Yousuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah will undertake a visit of India from June 3, to congratulate the new leadership in New Delhi on behalf of the Government of Oman.

Bin Abdullah visited India recently on February 28 at the invitation of then External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.

India's close and friendly relations with Oman are based on historical people to people contacts.

Oman is an important trading partner of India in the Gulf region with bilateral trade exceeding USD 5.70 billion in 2013-14.

The contribution of over 700,000 strong Indian community in the progress and development of Oman is well acknowledged and appreciated.

 

During the forthcoming visit, the two sides would utilize the opportunity to also discuss bilateral, regional and other issues of mutual interest.
