Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the media has blown his father Farooq Abdullah's views on PoK (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) out of proportion, adding that there was nothing new in what the National Conference (NC) president said.
"I'm amazed that the channels are treating my father's views as though they are something he's never said before," Omar tweeted.
Farooq Abdullah had earlier stirred a controversy by saying that India needs to give up its claim on PoK as it will remain in Pakistan and needs to be content with Jammu and Kashmir.
"India has been saying for so long that PoK belongs to them but has anything been done about it? PoK belongs to Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India, this is how things will remain," Abdullah had told the media.
