December 13, 2014 marks the thirteenth anniversary of the deadly terror attack on the Parliament, which claimed the lives of 14 people, including six Delhi police personnel and five terrorists.
Martyr J P Yadav was a security assistant at the Rajya Sabha when he lost his life in the gun battle against terrorists while defending the parliament from their attack. For his bravery, Yadav was posthumously conferred with the Ashok Chakra in 2002.
Thirteen years later, Yadav's daughter, a tearful Garima Yadav, said she felt proud of the fact that her father lost his life for the nation.
"It was a terrorist attack and undoubtedly more people could have lost their lives. What transpired shouldn't have happened," she told ANI.
"No matter which unit a person belongs to, when a man sacrifices his life, it's for the good of his nation" said Yadav's wife.
"The hanging of Afzal Guru should serve as an example to the other miscreants that any attempts at creating communal strife would lead to the same predicament," she added.
