At least one person is said to have been killed and three others injured in an explosion near the Chinese embassy in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek on Tuesday.

The car exploded near the embassy in Bishkek, killing its driver and wounding three people, the Health Ministry said, reports the Guardian.

The State National Safety Committee (GKNB) said it was investigating the blast but provided no other details.

Reports suggest that the car appeared to have rammed the embassy's gate before exploding.

The ambulance cars and law enforcement officers had already been sent to the scene.
