One killed, 15 injured in grenade attack in Karachi

At least one woman has been killed and 15 other people, including women and children, were injured in a blast that occurred outside Dar-i-Abbas Imambargah on Monday evening in Karachi's Liaquatabad area.

The death of a woman in the blast was confirmed by the additional police surgeon at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Dr Rohina Hassan.

The Dawn quoted Dr Hassan as saying, "We received one woman brought dead and 15 injured persons."

She further informed that more than a dozen injured have been brought to the hospital.

The SSP Central said, "Two children and three women were injured in the blast."

The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital, where the condition of one child is considered to be critical.

 

Police officials have confirmed that the target of the attack was the Imambargah located in Sharifabad and added that the injured include women and children who were coming out of the Imambargah after attending a gathering.
