One LeT militant killed in Pulwama in Kashmir

A militant was killed and two policemen were injured during a fierce exchange of fire between security personnel and the ultras in Pulwama region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Commandant of No.182 Battalion of CRPF, A. P. Singh said that the slain militant, Ashiq Lone, was a resident of Heff Shirmal area in Shopian district.

"During the firing, two Special Operations Group (SOG) personnel were hit by bullets in their legs. Our soldiers retaliated and , one militant, identified as Ashiq Lone, a resident of HeffShirmal area in Shopian district, was killed," said A. P. Singh.

"As per the information received, the militant who was killed was associated with Lashkar e Taiba (LeT) and further investigations are on to know whether he was involved in any past incidents or not," added A. P. Singh.

 

This incident took place after the ultras attacked a patrol party of SOG on Monday.

The injured policemen were rushed to a hospital at Srinagar for their treatment.
