A new poll has revealed that almost one-third of Americans think President Barack Obama should be impeached.
While 33 percent Americans think the president should be impeached, 65 percent believe that he should not be impeached, reported Politico.
The poll also showed that 57 percent of Republicans feel Obama should be impeached as opposed to 35 percent independent voters and 13 percent Democrats.
About 79 percent of Americans said that they support impeachment only in cases of treason or bribery versus 18 percent who feel that impeachment can be used to register one's dissatisfaction with the White House policies and the President.
The figures revealed by the poll are in line with the CNN poll results for the last two presidents in which impeachment for former President George W. Bush in 2006 and for former President Bill Clinton in 1998 was supported by 30 percent and 29 percent Americans respectively.
The survey was conducted between July 18 and 20 with 1,012 adults on landlines and cellphones, the report said.
