The US State Department has said that only a regular engagement between India and Pakistan could generate a new trend in the relationship between the two countries.
According to Dawn News, the department's spokesman John Kirby said that no single effort, even by a super power, could bring the change in the ties between the two South Asian neighbours.
The Prime Ministers of the two countries will get a chance to discuss bilateral relations next week in the Russian city of Ufa, where both leaders will be attending a summit meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and their senior aides have indicated that they could also have a separate, bilateral meeting as well.
