The international chemical weapons watchdog has said its experts have verified the total destruction of the Syrian toxic stockpile and parts of its weapons production facilities.
The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) said that the latest destruction work was near the city of Homs, which had remained inaccessible for some time due to security reasons in the conflict zone, News24 reports.
The OPCW team in Syria aims to eradicating President Bashar al-Assad's chemical weapons program by mid-2014.
