Opera has released an update of its data saving tool Opera Max to save data when the users are watching YouTube and Netflix videos on their Android device.
According to The Next Web, the company claims that it can compress the video about 50 percent on average before giving them to users' devices.
It focuses to help the users save data while they stream videos without any significant loss in quality. It achieves this with a new approach to compressing and delivering HTTPS video and it works on both Wi-Fi and mobile connections.
Opera says it is working to enable data saving for other HTTPS video services in the coming months.
