Taking a dig at the Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday accused his opponents of targeting his frequent rallies in the state as they face a dearth of issues.

"The upcoming elections in Haryana are crucial, and they are devoid of issues to talk about. That is why, the only thing they ask is why the Prime Minister comes here again and again," Prime Minister Modi said, addressing a rally here.

The Prime Minister also asserted that though members of the political families of Haryana had pledged their allegiance to different parties, they were all working towards the same goal.

"Behind the curtains, all these families are the same. When one member comes to power, he loots as much of the state's exchequer. After that, they let another member take over, to repeat the same procedure. Their names and party symbols may be different but they are one and the same and they have the same intentions," said Prime Minister Modi.

Urging the people of the state to elect the BJP in the upcoming legislative assembly elections, Prime Minister Modi further said, "If the people here support us, I promise to bring a change for betterment of Haryana. The BJP has the capability of making your dreams come true."

The elections for the 90 member Haryana state assembly are scheduled to be held on October 15, with the counting to take place on October 19.
