The 2016 Tony Awards was a night dedicated to the victims of the Orlando shooting as the show's host James Corden, 'Hamilton' star Lin-Manuel Miranda and actor Frank Langhella paid an emotional tribute to the victims during the show held at the Beacon Theatre in New York.
Corden said, "People all around the world are trying to come to terms with the horrific events that took place in Orlando this morning," reports E!Online.
"On behalf of the whole theater community and every person in this room, our hearts go out to all of those affected by this atrocity. All we can say is you are not on your own right now. Your tragedy is our tragedy, he added.
While accepting the award for best original score, Miranda said "When senseless acts of tragedy reminds us that nothing here is promised. Not one day."
Langhella, while accepting his fourth Tony for best actor in 'The Father', said, "I urge you Orlando to be strong. I'm standing in a room full of the most generous human beings on earth and we will be with you ever step of the way."
At least 50 people were killed and more than 53 others were injured on Sunday after a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
