Save the Children has reportedly denied involvement in the Bin Laden raid in Abbottabad on May 2.
The NGO has faced tremendous flak after the Abbottabad Commission linked it to the Bin Laden raid and other espionage activities in Pakistan.
According to the Express Tribune, the NGO's global president and CEO, Carolyn Miles held a meeting with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister in this regard and said that although Dr Shakil Afridi attended two workshops conducted by the NGO, he was never a direct employee of the organisation.
Miles further said that Afridi falsely used the name of the organisation to run a fake vaccination campaign and the NGO never itself ran a vaccination campaign in Abbottabad as well.
She added that the organization condemn the use of public health programmes for ulterior aims before adding that the NGO was working in 120 countries across the globe with the Australian and Dutch governments as biggest donors, who are very serious in terms of accountability.
