Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that if the country's borders were not secure, then the nation's freedom too is not secure.
"If India's borders not secure, then our freedom too is not secure. This is why we have so much respect for you (BSF)," he said.
In a series of tweets, he expressed his thoughts about his visit at the Khantlang border outpost in North Tripura today.
"I salute these brave men who stay away from home to perform their national duty. We love our security forces," he tweeted.
"Visited Khantlang BoP in North Tripura today. BSF is guarding the border in extremely inhospitable conditions," his tweets further stated.
He was accompanied by Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju.
Singh embarked on a two-day visit to Manipur and Tripura visited Moreh yesterday, the border trading centre between India and Myanmar.
