An Islamic boys' school in UK has been reportedly accused for discrimination by a woman science teacher, after she spotted an online advert by the school seeking applications from only male science teachers.
An outsourcing company Capita had placed the job description specifying the requirement of a "male science teacher" for an Islamic school for lessons until the end of the current academic year.
According to Express.co.uk, a woman science teacher in search of work spotted the advert and complained to the National Secular Society (NSS), the charity campaigner for separation of religion and state.
Following the complaint, the Department for Education took up the issue with the Leicester City Council and the advert for Madani Boys' School in Evington, Leics, was removed.
Meanwhile, refuting the allegations of discrimination, Saqub Sheikh, the executive head-teacher said that the school acted within the Equality Act 2010.
