ANI Gurgaon (Haryana)

At least 250 shanties gutted in a slum of Gurgaon's Kherki Daula village on Monday.

As many as 12 fire tenders pressed into service to put out the fire. However, no fatality has been reported thus far.

The fire broke out in some of the shanties located in a field around 12 noon, but soon spread over the entire slum after small LPG cylinders kept in shanties blasted off. The uncontrolled inferno soon spread over a large area owing to strong wind.

Fire officer Sukhbir Singh said the actual reason of fire was not known to them, and only an inquiry could ascertain the origin of fire.
