Over 8000 Shimla dancers to enter Limca Book of World Records

Women taking part in Kullu Dusshera festival have applied to the Limca Book of World Records for performing collectively on a single stage, with the theme to save girl child.

Attired in traditional Kulluwi dress 8760 women performed the traditional folk dance in Rath round of Kullu here.

The organizers claimed that this was the Asia's largest folk dance performed by 8760 women, where they pledged to save girl child.

This dance record has been named as the pride of Kullu by the organizers as they believe that this will not only give them pride to set the record but also will help to promote and preserve their folk culture.

 

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh along with the King of Kullu, Masheshwar Singh, also participated in the dance fest here to boost up the girls.

The girls who participated in the dance here feel privileged and happy to be the part of this dance that has helping them to set a record and also to promote and preserve their rich folk dance tradition.
