All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday criticised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu over his comments on the attack on YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam airport.
"The attack was carried to kill him (Reddy). God has saved him. It's unfortunate that the incident happened at the airport. It's more unfortunate that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is making a joke of the incident. I expected that the Chief Minister will speak to Reddy over the phone and support him. Being a Chief Minister, he is joking about the incident. Andhra public is watching this act of the government," Owaisi told ANI.
Naidu had last week termed the attack on Reddy as "drama" played on the direction of the Central Government.
"While our government is developing the state with our own resources, they are creating obstacles everywhere and are hampering development. There has been a prolonged friction between the centre-state relations," he said.
On October 25, a canteen boy working at the Visakhapatnam airport attacked Jaganmohan with a sharp object at the airport. The man was later taken into custody by the police.
