Australian batting coach Michael di Venuto has said that his side's top order batsmen must 'toughen up' in order to keep the Ashes hopes alive when they will take on England in the fourth Test at Trent Bridge.

Di Venuto admitted that Australia were struggling to adjust to the seaming conditions at Edgbaston and insisted that they have to work harder on it over the next few days, Sport24 reported.

Shaun Marsh, who is likely to be roped into the team in place of Adam Voges, could bat in either position when the fourth test begins from August 6. Captain Michael Clarke is likely to drop down the order to No 5 in order to regain his best form.

Australia had suffered from two significant collapses as England wrapped up the third Test by eight wickets inside three days to go 2-1 in the five-match series.

The win marked an incredible turnaround for England, who had suffered a humiliating 405-run defeat in the second Test at Lord's.
