A young domestic Australian cricketer has reportedly become a social media sensation by taking an incredible catch, which has been described by West Indian legend Sir Vivian Richards as one of the greatest grabs of all-time.

Sydney Sixers player Jordan Silk, who holds the record for being the youngest player to make a century on debut, was positioned at mid-on and dived full stretch to his left to somehow grasp a full-blooded smash from Brisbane Heat batsman Craig Kieswetter in the Big Bash League.

News.com.au reports that the catch created a Twitter meltdown with cricket fans amazed as the athleticism of one of the most amazing cricket catches of all-time.

Silk, who has been rated by former Australian captain Ricky Ponting as the best fieldsman in Australia, revealed that he always practices taking remarkable diving catches, adding that he just stuck out his hand and the ball 'stuck' onto it.

The report mentioned that John Dyson's famous 'goalkeeper' catch to dismiss West Indian Sylvester Clark at the SCG in 1982 is commonly regarded as one of the best catches ever seen on a cricket field, along with Glenn McGrath's outfield catch in an Ashes Test at the Adelaide Oval.
