Australia bagged another Hockey World Cup title as the defending champions demolished Netherlands 6-1 in the final of the tournament.

Five-time world-player-of-the-year Jamie Dwyer described Australia's win as better than their 2010 title, saying that to win a World Cup 6-1 is incredible and unheard of.

According to News.com.au, powerful defender and penalty corner specialist, Chris Ciriello scored a hat-trick as as Australia thrashed hosts Netherlands, silencing the home crowd in The Hague.

Australia has amassed 30 goals across the tournament, while conceding just three, which was modestly described as 'convincing' by a feat veteran coach Ric Charlesworth.

Charlesworth said that he feels that Australia plays the best hockey in the world, adding that they play a brand of the game, which is expansive, creative and quick.

Charlesworth said that Australia has the best defence there by a long way, adding that they conceded three goals, the next team it might be eight or nine and they scored maybe 15 more goals than anyone else.

Meanwhile, skipper and player-of-the-tournament Mark Knowles said that is was as close to the perfect game as one could ask for.
