The Australian media has said that Australian all-rounder Shane Watson may have delivered the worst ball in history when he threw down an airborne shocker to Perth Heat batsman Simon Katich in the Australian side match against Rajasthan Royals in the Champions League Twenty20.

According to the Courier Mail, the ball appeared to slip from Watson's hand, flying high through the air and down the leg side, following which Katich repositioned and attempted to swat the descending ball to the boundary.

However, the report mentioned that once the ball landed on the ground, it was called a wide, although Katich dispatched Watson's next ball for four.

The Royals later posted a nine-wicket win over Perth Scorchers to enter the semi-finals in the tournament, the report added.
