The Indian duo of Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy suffered a major blow as they crashed out of the ongoing Australian Open after going down in the semi-finals of the men's doubles event here on Saturday.
The third-seeded team failed to capitalize on their good momentum in the tournament so far and slumped to 17-21, 15-21 defeat at the hands of the Indonesian team of Berry Angriawan and Hardianto Hardianto in a last-four clash that lasted 39 minutes.
With Attri and Reddy's exit, India's campaign in the tournament also folded.
Earlier, Attri and Reddy had confirmed their place in the semi-finals of the men's doubles event after registering 17-21, 21-19, 21-18 win over Arjun MR and Ramchandran Shlok in a last-eight clash that lasted 51 minutes.
Yesterday, Sameer Verma and B Sai Praneeth also bowed out of the tournament after losing their respective men's singles quarter-final clashes.
