Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has admitted that he is considering calling time on his boxing career after his last fight next year.

Pacquiao, who is looking forward to switch his career in politics, said it was a right time for retirement as he had been associated with boxing for the last 20 years.

Reflecting his views on his future career, the 36-year-old said that he has to give up on other things so that he could only focus on his job and family, Sport24 reported.

Pacquiao, who had announced his bid for a senate seat this week, also said that he would be a responsible senator if he wins the national elections in May.

Earlier, Pacquiao had suffered his sixth loss of his career following his defeat to unbeaten American boxer Floyd Mayweather in the 'Fight of the Century' bout in Las Vegas five months ago.

The six-weight word champion then underwent corrective surgery to fix his torn rotator cuff sustained months before the high-octane fight, which generated a record 4.4 million pay-per-view buys.
