India romped into the World Group playoffs after seasoned duo of Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna claimed a comfortable straight sets victory over South Korean pair of Hong Chung and Yunseong Chung in the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group 1 tie on Saturday.
Paes and Bopanna thrashed the South Korean duo 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 at the grass courts of Chandigarh Club to give India a 3-0 unassailable lead, with Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan to play their respective reverse singles rounds on Sunday.
The Indian doubles pair were completely unchallenged by the Koreans in their only competitive match together before the Rio Games starting next month.
On Friday, Myneni and Ramanathan handed India a convincing 2-0 lead after winning their respective singles round contests.
