Specially-abled people showcased their talent at an arts and craft exhibition in Kolkata which concluded on Tuesday.

More than 100 specially-abled participants, who can neither hear nor speak, displayed their talent through various paintings, craft items, jewellery, traditional wear, stuffed toys, hand knitted clothing, bags, etc.

One of the spectators, Ashok Sengupta, appreciated the efforts, adding such type of events should be held to encourage more participation.

"I think this is an excellent collection, more of these efforts should be encouraged, it's my social responsibility to encourage and help exhibitions of this nature. I have my total sympathies with these people. I am touched in the efforts they have given to prepare this exhibition, I think more of this should happen," said Sengupta.

Through this exhibition, specially-abled got an opportunity to showcase their talent, which was a boost for their morale.

Father of one of the painters, Tapan Ghosh, said his child started painting at the age of three

"He is talented since childhood. He started painting at the age of three and his first painting was of Rambo," said Ghosh.

The annual exhibition started on July 08 and was organised by academy of fine arts.
