Pakistani batsman Azhar Ali is aiming to play big knocks in the upcoming Test matches against Zimbabwe following their shocking opening day one-day international loss to the hosts.

According to the Express Tribune, Pakistan has geared up for the series against Zimbabwe, with players like Ali, Younus Khan, Adnan Akmal, Wahab Riaz, Faisal Iqbal, Ehsan Adil, Khurram Manzoor, Rahat Ali and Shaan Masood set to depart for the Test series against the hosts, set to start from September 3.

Stating that the two Tests will be a good opportunity for the players to gain confidence and improve their performance, Ali said that he would not take Zimbabwe bowlers lightly as he hopes to play long innings, adding that more concentration is required against weaker teams because players are already cautious against tough oppositions.

The middle-order batsman also said that he hoped that Pakistan would be able to bounce back and win the ODI series, adding that as surprises are a part of the game, he hoped that Pakistan would overcome it and end as eventual winners.
