The Pakistan government is strengthening its security for all airports and government buildings in the country after the recent attack on Karachi airport.
According to Dawn, Inspector General Punjab Khan Baig told the media on Thursday that terrorists in the province could attempt to attack government offices, dignitaries, lawyers and journalists, besides the airport.
He said that although the security has been on a high alert level, it has been beefed up further for potential targets.
Meanwhile, shoot at sight orders have been issued at Peshawar's Bacha Khan International Airport for those who would attempt to gain unauthorised entry, the report said.
The move comes following the recent assault by Taliban on Karachi airport in Pakistan that left at least 28 people dead.

The attack took place after armed gunmen gained access to the old terminal by disguising themselves as Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel.
A second attack was launched on ASF camp number 2 in Karachi the next day, in which at least three to four terrorists reportedly opened fire near the camp, and fled after heavy contingent of security forces reached the spot.
However, no casualties were reported in the consecutive attack.
