Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district for the second time on Monday.
Security forces have been evacuating the villagers living in the border areas after the Islamic Republic resorted to shelling along the border.
"There have been intermittent cases of firing by the Pakistani forces in the past but the way they were shelling the area has been unprecedented. The firing by their forces is reminiscent of wartime," Samba SHO RS Parihar told ANI.
"We are evacuating the villagers to safer areas. Two or three buses have already been sent away and more buses are on their way to help with the evacuation process," he added.
Earlier in the day, unprovoked firing by Pakistani forces led to the killing of one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan in Samba.
