Pakistan's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has said it is confident major foreign airlines will resume flights from Peshawar soon.

CAA Manager (Public Relations) Abid Kaimkhani was quoted by the Dawn, as saying that foreign airlines, which had temporarily stopped flights for Peshawar, would decide about resumption of flights on July 1.

Kaimkhani admitted that a few airlines had diverted flights from Peshawar to Islamabad after attack on a PIA flight that was landing in Peshawar last week.

He also said security has been tightened in and around Peshawar's Bacha Khan International Airport.
