The US Special Representative has reportedly acknowledged that there has been strong cross-border infiltration in Pakistan and Afghanistan and said that Islamabad's concerns about the issue are not groundless but somewhat exaggerated.

James Dobbins said that the dominant infiltration of militants is from Pakistan into Afghanistan, but there is some infiltration of hostile militants from the other direction as well and therefore Pakistan's concerns aren't groundless but somewhat exaggerated, BBC reports.

He further said that Pakistan, Afghanistan and the US need to collaborate much more closely to deal with the threat of cross-border infiltration, the report added.
