A policeman in Pakistan, who intercepted the former husband of Bushra Maneka for speeding has been transferred.

Attributing to police sources, Geo News reported that Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Gondal and his party attempted to intercept Khawar Maneka, at a checkpoint on August 23, but he did not stop.

Subsequently, the cops chased his vehicle and managed to intercept him. Sources added that Khawar verbally abused the policemen when the policemen stopped him.

On August 27, the Punjab provincial government summoned Gondal and demanded him to apologise to Khawar. The Police sources added that the latter did not obey the orders and argued that the policemen were not at fault for stopping Khawar, following which he was transferred.

Gondal had also informed Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on his decision of not apologising to Khawar, sources further said.

Meanwhile, sources in the Punjab provincial government revealed that Buzdar had persuaded Pakpattan DPO and Khawar to resolve the matter.
