An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has reportedly freed one of the suspects in the beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl.
According to the BBC, Qari Hashim, who was detained in 2005 and imprisoned in Hyderabad during his trial was acquitted following lack of evidence, his lawyer said.
The South Asia bureau chief at the Wall Street Journal was kidnapped by Pakistani militants in Karachi in January 2001.
Pearl was beheaded a month later by his captors.
