Pakistan is reportedly aiming to reduce the gap on the ICC T20I Rankings table with number-one ranked Sri Lanka by winning the two-match Twenty20 International series against hosts Zimbabwe, which starts on August 23.

According to the Daily Times, Pakistan which is currently three points above archrivals India in the second rank with 124 ratings points, can gain one ratings point if they win both the matches, to finish with 125 ratings points and thereby reduce the gap with number-one ranked Sri Lanka (128) to three.

The report further said that Zimbabwe also has an opportunity to move up the table from 48 ratings points and jump one place to 11th if they win both matches in the series, by gaining up to 16 ratings points to move into 11th.

Meanwhile, the report added that Pakistani T20 captain Mohammad Hafeez will start the series with an all-round presence on the ICC Player Rankings for T20Is, where he is currently ranked second with a career-high 432 ratings points.

Hafeez is also fourth in the ICC Player Rankings for T20I bowlers and 17th in the ICC Player Rankings for T20I batsmen, the report added.
