Pakistan's Information minister Pervaiz Rasheed has reportedly refuted claims of a rising rift between the government and the army.

Commenting on the issue, Rasheed said that the military had not demanded resignations of any cabinet members, Dawn News reported.

Rasheed told media representatives that the army was engaged in the country's defence and blamed destabilizing forces for spreading such baseless rumours.

Meanwhile, the statement comes in the wake of recent reports claiming that Pakistan's army generals were upset following unfair criticism by the country's federal ministers.
