Pakistan's Judicial Commission, which was constituted to probe rigging allegations levelled by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) during the 2013 polls, has concluded that the polls were "in large part organised and conducted fairly and in accordance with the law".

A report prepared by the commission, published on the Ministry of Law website, said that on the basis of the evidence presented before the body, it cannot be said that on an overall basis the elections were not a true and fair reflection of the mandate given by the electorate, despite some lapses by the Election Commission of Pakistan, reported the Dawn.

However, it also maintained that PTI's request to conduct a probe into alleged rigging in the May 2013 polls was not 'entirely unjustified'.

The three-judge body, headed by Chief Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, completed the hearing on July 3 after 39 sittings.
