Top Pakistan military leaders reportedly discussed their operational preparedness as they vowed to safeguard the territorial integrity of the country at all cost, a press release stated.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (JCSC) meeting, presided over by its Chairman, General Khalid Shameem Wynne, discussed the emerging geo-strategic situation and internal security and the tri-service operational readiness to respond, the Dawn reports.
The statement comes a day after a unanimous decision of holding talks with Taliban militants was taken by politicians and military leadership in national interest at the All-Parties Conference (APC).
The frequent incidents of ceasefire violations on the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir valley have also strained the relations with the nuclear-armed neighbour India.
The JCSC is a platform to discuss, exchange and evaluate opinions of services chief on the operational preparedness of the armed forces.
