Pakistani police has reportedly arrested a man, who claimed to be associated to Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), for plotting a terror attack on foreign dignitaries visiting a private club.

Counter Terrorism Department SP Maroof Safdar Wahla said that Mohammad Din had dug a six-foot-long tunnel in his house to reach the club to target foreigners, reported the Dawn.

He said that police nabbed Din after a suspect involved in a suicide bombing attempt outside the Gaddafi Stadium during the Pakistan-Zimbabwe cricket series revealed that a man was digging a tunnel.

Wahla added that Din lived in an adjacent locality less than 100 feet away from the wall of the club.

He also said that the suspect had been associated with JuD since 1994 and had got militant training in Mansehra in 2001.

However, the claim has been rejected by JuD, which said that Din had never been associated with it.
