Parliamentary party leaders have reportedly been summoned by Pakistan National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq at 4 p.m. today to chalk out a strategy to avoid infighting during the joint session of Parliament.

Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) Khursheed Shah, Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party's (PkMap) Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl's (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui along with leaders from the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) will take part in the meeting in the Speaker's chamber, reports the Dawn.

Meanwhile, it is being reported that several parliamentarians have urged the Speaker to accept the resignations submitted by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers.

The Speaker is expected to seek the recommendations of House members over what suitable course of action should be taken in this regard.

After the parliamentary party leaders meeting with the Speaker, the House is scheduled to meet at 5 p.m.
