Pak opposition parties slam 'draconian' Pakistan Protection Bill passed in Parliament

Pakistan's National Assembly reportedly approved the Protection of Pakistan Bill, amid much chaos and protests from the opposition.

After the Pakistan Protection Bill 2013 was presented in the upper house; chaos ensued and eventually resulted in a boycott as Pakistan government refused the amendments suggested by the Opposition, the Dawn reported.

While Opposition leaders gathered around the dais and protested against the bill, some of them turned violent and tore down the copies of the bill and threw them.

Meanwhile, showing its support with the opposition, Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Islam - Fazl (JUI-F) also staged a walk out.
