Pakistani pace lynchpin Umar Gul has said that he is likely to return to bowling again by mid July.

Gul, who recently underwent a knee surgery in Australia, said that he wants to make a strong comeback to international cricket, adding that he has been told that he should fit to return to field by mid July, The Nation reports.

Stating that he was missing playing for Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy in England, the pacer from Peshawar insisted that despite the injury, he had no intentions of quitting any format of the game.

Gul, who had arthroscopy in May, said that he was already feeling better and was in the second stage of his rehabilitation process, adding that his doctors had told him that it was necessary for him to have the surgery if he wanted to continue playing and bowling.

Gul's knee injury on the tour of South Africa earlier this year has been a blessing for players for whom the proverbial door has been opened, although his absence would be missed by fans, who will be denied watching one of the finest exponents of death bowling at the Champions Trophy.
