A pop star-turned Muslim campaigner is facing probe for blasphemy after he was caught on camera insulting one of the Prophet Muhammad's wives, a report said.
Junaid Jamshed, who quit music to join a deeply conservative Sunni Muslim group, allegedly insulted Prophet's youngest wife, Ayesha, in a video by saying that she demanded attention from the Prophet and also faked an illness once, reported the BBC.
The video prompted another Muslim group, Sunni Tehrik, to file a blasphemy case against the rich, high-profile Muslim preacher.
Jamshed then, released another video pleading forgiveness but a Sunni Tehrik spokesman Mohammad Mobeen Qadri said that an apology would not stop the legal process once blasphemy has been committed.
