Asserting that Islamabad wants peace and stability in the region, Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States, Jalil Abbas Jilani has said that a befitting response will to given in case of any misadventure from across the border.
Jilani made the remarks while speaking at the inaugural sub-convention of the Pakistani-American Community, at East West University, Chicago, reports Radio Pakistan.
Jilani maintained that Pakistan's defence has become impregnable over the years and the country has successfully conducted counter-insurgency operations and reversed the tide of extremism.
Dismissing the impression that Pakistan had been isolated in the international community, Jilani referred to recent meetings of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in New York with his counterparts from UK, China, New Zealand, Iran and the US.
He also urged the Pakistani-American Community to play their due role in building positive image of Islamabad.
