Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has made an appeal to the International Cricket Council (ICC) to conduct an official bio-mechanics test of all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez in order to reassess his illegal bowling action before the World Cup commences.

The seasoned all-rounder was suspended from bowling with immediate effect after the ICC ruled his action was illegal.

The ICC has set the permissible limit of 15 degree as the legal level for bowlers to bend their arms.

A PCB official had earlier said that Hafeez turned his arm at angles measuring from 16 to 18 degrees while bowling from over the wicket and from round the wicket it ranged between 12 and 19 degrees, the Dawn reported.

Earlier in the month, Hafeez had reportedly failed to clear the second bio-mechanics test conducted to assess the legality of his bowling action in a lab in Chennai.
