Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday welcomed the tough response of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) ahead of the NSA-level talks and said that Pakistan, which is running a factory of terrorism, cannot dictate terms on India.

Taking a jibe at Pakistan over the latest developments, Raut said the neighbouring nation goes into the same mode whenever talks are scheduled to take place.

"Earlier also, the situation was the same during the Secretary-level talks and now it's the same as far as the NSA-level talks are concerned. Pakistan is running a factory of terrorism. If you talk on the same (terrorism) then they will be exposed. We all are aware of it. So, Pakistan has run away out of fear," Raut told ANI here.

"I welcome that the talks are not taking place. I welcome the move of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. The role of our External Affairs Ministry has been very strong. In the similar manner, Pakistan should be given a befitting reply," he added.

Pakistan called off the NSA-level talks with India late on Saturday night.

A statement issued by the Pakistan Foreign Office said the proposed talks will not serve any purpose if conducted on the basis of what it called 'preconditions' laid down by India.
